Vinay Balan has over 18 years of work experience in the fields of Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) and Product Safety. Theircareer began in 2003 with C-Cubed Solutions, where they provided online customer support for Sony Style USA. In 2004, they moved to AirServ Corp as the Regional Safety Coordinator, where they implemented corporate EHS programs for ramp and cabin service operations. From 2005 to 2007, they worked at EORM as an EHS Specialist, providing EHS technical and management consulting support to clients. In 2007, they joined Solyndra as the EHS Manager, where they managed the development and implementation of all applicable EHS programs. In 2013, they founded ehsIgnite,Inc and also worked at Intermolecular as the EHS & Product Safety Manager. From 2014 to 2022, they worked at Amazon in various roles, including Sr. Robotics Safety Engineer, Business Process Engineer, and Global Safety Engineering Manager. Vinay is currently employed at Third Wave Automation as a Product Safety Officer.

Vinay Balan completed their Bachelor of Engineering in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Madras in 2001. Vinay then went on to pursue a Master of Science in Aviation Safety from the University of Central Missouri, which they completed in 2005. Before that, they attended Indian High School.
