Kerstin Carr is the Co-Founder of Think Outside Boxes, a company that provides innovative solutions to complex problems. Kerstin has a long history of working in the field of sustainability and planning, dating back to their time at the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission.
As the Director of Planning & Sustainability, Kerstin was responsible for a $2 million budget and 15 staff members. Kerstin initiated and directed the region's public/private initiative, which provided research and guidance to local governments to prepare for significant future population growth and demographic changes. In addition, they led the regional trail vision to add 500+ more trail miles to Central Ohio.
Prior to their role as Director of Planning & Sustainability, Kerstin served as the Senior Planner and Program Manager for the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission. In these roles, they advised on state and federal legislative and policy work related to sustainability and planning.
Kerstin has a passion for finding innovative solutions to complex problems and is excited to continue their work at Think Outside Boxes.
Kerstin Carr has a PhD in Geography from the University of Regensburg, a Master in Geography from the University of Regensburg, and is certified as a Certified Tourism Ambassador (CTA) from Experience Columbus. Kerstin is also a 2019 Leadership Columbus Graduate from Leadership Columbus.
