Girard Petula

Girard Petula, Ed.D., joined The Wright Center for Patient and Community Engagement Board in 2022, bringing his perspective as both a patient from a rural community as well as a longtime educator with a rich background of teaching, managerial and executive experience. Dr. Petula served in the education field for 38 years, retiring as director of employability/career services with the Management & Training Corporationā€™s Red Rock High School in Lopez. Previously, he had held administrative positions at St. Michaelā€™s School, Tunkhannock, and various posts of increasing responsibility at the Delaware Valley School District and the Montrose School District.

A resident of Wyoming County, Dr. Petula contributes to his community as a longtime member of the Factoryville Zoning Board. He also is a member of the Abington Community Library and the nonprofit Countryside Conservancy, a land trust committed to protecting greenspace in the Tunkhannock Creek watershed. His prior volunteer experience includes a stint as director of Hour Place Child Development Center, in Clarks Summit, and serving as a park naturalist at Lackawanna State Park.
