Douglas James Spegman, M.D., MSPH, FACP, is the Chief Clinical Officer of El Rio Community Health Center in Tuscon, Arizona, and serves as a member of The Wright Center for Graduate Medical Education Board of Directors.
A fellow of the American College of Physicians (ACP), he was recognized as Clinical Leader of the Year by the Arizona Chapter of the ACP in 2011. He has served on numerous community and healthcare boards of directors and currently chairs the board of Arizona Connected Care, a southern Arizona-based accountable care organization.
Dr. Spegman earned his bachelor’s degree from Colgate University, his master’s in public health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and his medical degree from Johns Hopkins University. He completed his internal medicine residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital, serving as chief resident and assistant chief of service in the department of medicine. He has also served in the U.S. Peace Corps in Ecuador and in the National Health Service Corps at El Rio Community Health Center.
