Kelly O'Connor

Conservation Policy Coordinator at The Wildlife Society

Kelly O'Connor is a conservation professional with extensive experience in policy coordination and biological research. Currently serving as the Conservation Policy Coordinator at The Wildlife Society since October 2021, Kelly also held the position of Conservation Affairs Network Fellow. Prior roles include Stakeholder Coordinator and Regional Gopher Tortoise Conservation Biologist at the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission from July 2017 to October 2021. Earlier experience includes work as a Research Assistant at Auburn University, monitoring herpetofauna, and at Archbold Biological Station, conducting surveys for gopher tortoises and eastern indigo snakes. Kelly’s educational background includes a Master of Science in Natural Resources and Conservation and a Bachelor of Science in Fisheries and Wildlife Conservation, both from the University of Connecticut.
