Alison Thorne is an experienced leader and board member, currently serving as an Independent Non Executive Director at the Welsh Rugby Union and Chair at Barcud and the National Dance Company Wales. With a commitment to enhancing affordable housing and promoting social change through dance, Alison is also a Governor at Cardiff Metropolitan University and an Independent Panel Member for Public Appointments in Wales. Additionally, Alison leads initiatives for Women on Boards in Wales to empower women in securing board roles, while holding positions as a Board Member at Sport Wales and Founder of atconnect, an organization focused on supporting career transitions. Alison previously chaired Chwarae Teg, contributing to women's development and diversity, and served as a Non Executive Director at TPC Consulting, emphasizing brand and governance enhancement. Alison holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Teaching & Learning from the University of the Arts London.
