James Friel is a seasoned professional in strategic and financial advisory, specializing in mergers and acquisitions, restructuring, and financing within Frontier and Emerging Markets. As the founder of Friel Advisory LLP since March 2018, James manages private direct investments in complex special situations and turnaround efforts. In addition to leading Friel Advisory, James serves as Chairman of the Board at The Webster and holds a board position at JHD Technologies Limited. As a member of Princeton University's Dean’s Advisory Council since November 2018, James contributes to academic discourse. Previously, James was a member of the Board of Directors for the Brooklyn Nets and held significant roles in major financial institutions, including Global Head of Investment Banking at Renaissance Capital and Managing Director at Rothschild. James holds a BA in Politics and Russian Studies from Princeton University and a Baccalaureat from Lycee International, St Germain-en-Laye.
