Andrew Hawkins is an experienced transportation editor and organizer with a diverse background in journalism and community engagement. Currently serving as an organizer for Montclair Bike Bus since March 2023, Hawkins has also held significant roles at The Verge, starting as a transportation reporter in October 2015 and advancing to transportation editor. Prior experience includes reporting for Crain's New York Business from June 2012 to September 2015 and managing editor at City & State newspaper from October 2007 to March 2012. Hawkins began the career as a freelancer at the New York Daily News in 2007. Educational qualifications include a Master of Arts in Journalism from The Graduate Center, City University of New York, and a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
