Jessica Simmons, M.A., serves as the Programs Abroad Coordinator at the University of Tennessee since January 2025. With a robust background in education, Jessica held positions as an ELL Instructional Manager & Coach as well as an English Language Arts Teacher at LEAD Public Schools from July 2018 to January 2025. Prior experience includes teaching English Language Arts at Mapleton Public Schools and serving as a student teacher in various grade levels. Alongside teaching, Jessica volunteered for Reading Partners, providing one-on-one literacy tutoring. Earlier roles involved editorial and marketing responsibilities at BrightNest, alongside internships in marketing and editorial assistance. Jessica holds a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education from the University of Colorado Denver and a B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
