Ricardo Vilalta

Ricardo Vilalta is an accomplished academic and industry leader with extensive experience in machine learning, pattern recognition, and artificial intelligence. Serving as an Associate Professor at the University of Houston since August 2002, Ricardo teaches graduate-level courses in these fields while conducting relevant research. As CEO of Adaptive Analytics since March 2018, Ricardo applies expertise in statistical analytics and data-driven decision-making. Additionally, Ricardo held an adjunct position at Rice University from January 2020 to December 2021 in the Department of Statistics. Ricardo began a professional career at IBM Research from March 1998 to July 2002, where responsibilities included designing algorithms for data mining. Educational credentials include a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a B.S. in Computer Engineering from Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey.
