Carson R. Cooper is a senior managing attorney at The Tulalip Tribes since August 2023, with extensive experience in American Indian law and commercial litigation. Previously, Carson served as acting general counsel and deputy general counsel for the Seneca Nation of Indians from March 2020 to July 2023. Prior to that, Carson worked as a senior associate attorney at Lippes Mathias Wexler Friedman LLP from June 2017 to March 2020, focusing on legal matters related to Indian law and commercial disputes. Carson's career also includes roles as an associate attorney at Lane Powell PC from October 2011 to May 2017, where Carson specialized in construction litigation and chaired the Native American Affairs Industry Group. Carson began the legal journey as a summer associate at Lane Powell PC and a law clerk at California Indian Legal Services, following a media internship at Project Vote Smart. Carson holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of California, Los Angeles - School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Urban Studies from Stanford University.
