Matt Adams has a diverse work experience in the field of media and communications. Matt started their career at WQED Multimedia as a Photography intern for Pittsburgh Magazine in 2004. Matt then worked as a Photography Teacher Assistant at Manchester Craftsmen's Guild in 2006. Matt gained further experience as a Graduate Assistant Photographer for Scripps College of Communication at Ohio University, where they also served as a Senior Producer for various projects. Matt continued their career at National Geographic, holding roles such as Assistant Photo Editor, Associate Photo Editor, and eventually Senior Producer. Matt later joined NPR as an Engagement Editor and Acting Supervisor Audience Engagement. Most recently, they worked at The Texas Tribune as the Director of Audience Growth and Engagement. Overall, Matt has built a strong background in audience engagement, photography, and multimedia production throughout their career.
Matt Adams obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Photojournalism and History from Point Park University, a four-year institution, from 2003 to 2007. Following this, they pursued a Master of Arts degree at Ohio University from 2010 to 2012. Matt'sfocus of study during their master's program was Visual Communication with a concentration in Multimedia Production.
