Samirah Salifu is an undergraduate pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering at Vanderbilt University, with a background in engineering from Western Kentucky University. Currently serving as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Lippmann Lab, Samirah focuses on enhancing hydrogel synthesis processes and conducting animal care and analysis in biomedicine. As a Research Fellow in The SyBBURE Searle Undergraduate Research Program, Samirah has gained experience with advanced manufacturing techniques, including 3D printing. Previously, Samirah contributed to bioinformatics research at Western Kentucky University, developing job schedulers in Python and publishing findings at the IEEE Cloud Summit, as well as conducting bacteriophage research that resulted in publications on notable databases.
