Ege Pehlivanoglu is a Research Assistant at The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, involved in the Global Economic Dynamics and The Biosphere Academy Programme since January 2023. Pehlivanoglu completed two MSc theses at the University of Groningen, focusing on human family size variation using historical datasets and on assessing methylation patterns in ancient Scandinavians, gaining experience in aDNA wet-lab environments. Formerly, Pehlivanoglu participated in the Erasmus Mundus Evolutionary Biology Joint Masters Programme, studying at Uppsala University and Université de Montpellier, and has undertaken research internships at The University of Edinburgh and Lund University. Pehlivanoglu holds a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology and Genetics from Istanbul Technical University and has pursued advanced studies in Evolutionary Biology and Ecology, Evolution, and Systematics.
