Hugh Halligan

Head Of Grant Funding And Assurance at The Royal Society

Hugh Halligan has extensive work experience in grant funding and finance management. Hugh currently holds the position of Head of Grant Funding and Assurance at The Royal Society, where they lead the delivery of effective grants audit, risk, and compliance frameworks. Prior to this, they worked at LGC as a Senior Finance Manager and Project Management Lead, overseeing the project management life cycle and managing strategic and operational plans. Hugh also held the role of Finance Manager at LGC, where they managed the finance scrutiny process for the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Central Commissioning Facilities (CCF) research programs. Before LGC, Hugh worked at the Welsh Assembly Government, where they held various positions, including NISCHR Research Governance and Ethics Policy Officer and Finance Administrator. In these roles, they were responsible for budget management and the development and implementation of research-related policies.

Hugh Halligan attended the University of Essex from 2002 to 2005, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Sociology.
