Samantha Murton serves as Chair of the Council of Medical Colleges since July 2022, representing seventeen medical colleges in New Zealand and advocating for a well-trained and safe medical workforce. Additionally, Samantha holds the position of President at The Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners since December 2018 and is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Otago since March 2016. As a Medical Doctor and Medical Director at Capital Care Health Centre and Visual GP since November 1997, Samantha has extensive clinical experience. Previous roles include Medical Director at the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners from July 2013 to August 2015 and National Clinical Lead for the GP Education Programme from August 2009 to April 2012. Samantha's education includes an MBChB and PGDipGP from the University of Otago, along with membership in the Academy of Medical Educators and the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners.
