Astrid Tvetenstrand, PhD, is a Curatorial Research Assistant and Social History Research Fellow at The Preservation Society of Newport County, specializing in archival and object-based research related to the King family and Kingscote Mansion. Tvetenstrand holds a Doctor of Philosophy in American & New England Studies from Boston University, where a dissertation focused on American landscape painting and Gilded Age vacation culture was completed. Additional experience includes a Teaching Fellow at Boston University, curatorial internships across multiple prominent museums, and a Visiting Instructor position at Boston College. Academic credentials also include a Master of Arts in American Fine & Decorative Art with Distinction from Sotheby's Institute of Art and a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Art History from St. Lawrence University.
