Ross Matzkin-Bridger has a diverse work experience in various roles related to international affairs and nuclear security. Ross is currently serving as the Senior Director of Nuclear Materials Security at the Nuclear Threat Initiative since September 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Advisor for International Affairs at the U.S. Department of Energy from March 2021 to September 2022. Ross also held the position of Energy Attaché and Director of the Department of Energy Japan Office at the U.S. Embassy in Tokyo, Japan from June 2016 to March 2021. Ross has previous experience at the U.S. Department of Energy as the Asia Regional Manager from November 2012 to June 2016 and as the Former Soviet Union Regional Coordinator from May 2011 to November 2012. Additionally, they worked as a Nonproliferation Fellow at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory from June 2010 to May 2011 and as a Program Assistant to the Korea Chair at the Center for Strategic and International Studies from September 2009 to May 2010. Prior to their career in international affairs, they served as a Coordinator for International Relations in Koka City, Japan from July 2006 to July 2008.
Ross Matzkin-Bridger holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Affairs from The George Washington University. Ross also has a Master of Science degree in Foreign Service from Georgetown University. Additionally, they have attended Kyoto University and the School for International Training, though no specific degree or field of study is provided for these institutions.
