Teresa Mathew is an accomplished journalist and photographer with extensive experience in research, writing, and editorial roles. Currently serving as the Associate Director of Research and Fact Checker at The New Yorker since May 2019, Teresa has also worked as a freelance writer and photographer since October 2015, contributing to renowned publications such as The New York Times, The Atlantic, and NPR. Prior roles include Staff Reporter and Photographer at Point Reyes Light, Editorial Fellow at CityLab, and various editorial positions at Vogue, New York Magazine, and Yahoo. Teresa's foundation in journalism began at The Michigan Daily, where notable contributions included overseeing the "Michigan in Color" op-ed series and managing the photo department. Teresa holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language and Literature from the University of Michigan.
