Willem Huijnk is a researcher at the Netherlands Institute for Social Research (SCP) since 2010, focusing on diversity, multiculturalism, and minority issues in the Netherlands, with current research on refugees, religion, secularization, labor market position, discrimination, and LGBT topics. Additionally, Willem has been the head trainer and responsible coordinator for DVSU/Forza Friends, supporting youth football players with disabilities for over a decade. Willem served as a board member of Vrijwilligerscentrale Utrecht, promoting and connecting volunteer work in the city. Willem completed a PhD at Universiteit Utrecht, investigating family characteristics and their influence on ethnic attitudes, and contributed to research on discrimination experiences among LGBTQ+ individuals in Nijmegen. Educational qualifications include a cum laude degree in Sociology from Radboud University and an initial degree in Economics from Tilburg University.
