Auke Ruijg is a highly experienced maritime professional currently serving as Captain and SDPO at Wagenborg Offshore since January 2021. Auke's extensive career includes roles as a NI approved DP Instructor and Representative for the European DP RTP group with The Nautical Institute since 2007. Prior to that, Auke was the Head of the DP department and Senior DP Instructor at Maritiem instituut "Willem Barentsz" from November 2017 to December 2020. Auke has a diverse background encompassing positions as an SDPO and DPO with Ensco plc, and as Chief Mate and DP Operator with Rijkswaterstaat, among others. Auke began the maritime journey with a BSc in Maritime Officer from Maritiem Instituut "Willem Barentsz" in 1991.
