Valerie Strassberg, P.E. is an accomplished professional in urban water infrastructure and environmental policy, currently serving as the Director of Urban Water Infrastructure and Detroit Urban Conservation Director at The Nature Conservancy since March 2015. Valerie holds board positions at Detroit Future City and Wayne State University College of Engineering since 2022 and 2020 respectively. Previously, Valerie founded and served as CEO of RST Learning Studio, and acted as Environmental Commissioner for the City of Ann Arbor, advancing integrated environmental policies. Experience also includes roles as an Engineering Consultant at Resource Recycling Systems and Executive Director of Nature's Voice - Our Choice. Valerie co-founded the San Francisco Professional Chapter of Engineers Without Borders USA and has held positions as a Water Resource Engineer and Staff Geotechnical Engineer. Valerie earned a Bachelor of Applied Science in Geological/Geophysical Engineering from Colorado School of Mines.
