Joey Flechas is an accomplished journalist with extensive experience in various reporting and editorial roles. Currently serving as Associate Editor at the Miami Herald since April 2013, Flechas engages in both enterprise reporting and editing, emphasizing accountability and investigative work. Previously, as City Hall Reporter for the Miami Herald, coverage focused on government and public affairs in Miami. Prior roles include Reporter at the Gainesville Sun, Editor-in-Chief and Managing Editor at The Independent Florida Alligator, and internships at the St Petersburg Times and The Washington Examiner. Flechas holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism from the University of Florida, completed in 2012.
