Christa Sundell is a seasoned professional in museum development and corporate giving, currently serving as the Deputy Chief Development Officer at The Metropolitan Museum of Art since March 2023. Prior to this role, Christa was the Director of Corporate Giving at the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco from February 2017 to February 2023 and held positions at the Asian Art Museum as Donor Relations Manager and Development Associate for Individual Giving from October 2014 to February 2017. Christa's experience also includes a Development Assistant role at the Smithsonian American Art Museum and various educational and coordinator positions across prestigious institutions like The Phillips Collection and Heritage Preservation. Academically, Christa holds a Master of Arts in Art History and Museum Management from The George Washington University and a Bachelor of Arts in History of Art and Architecture from UC Santa Barbara.
