Luke Coffey

Senior Fellow at Hudson Institute

Luke Coffey is a distinguished senior fellow at the Hudson Institute since June 2022, with a notable background in foreign policy and defense. Prior to this role, Coffey directed the Foreign Policy Center at The Heritage Foundation from February 2012 to June 2022 and served as a Margaret Thatcher Fellow. Earlier in their career, Coffey was a special adviser to the British Defence Secretary at the UK Ministry of Defence and held a similar position focused on defense issues with The Conservative Party. Coffey began their professional journey as a captain in the U.S. Army from May 2000 to August 2006. Academic credentials include an MSc in Politics and Government of the European Union from The London School of Economics and Political Science, a BA in Political Science from the University of Missouri-Saint Louis, and an AA in Military Science from Wentworth Military Academy and College.
