Fugee Tsung

Fugee Tsung has extensive work experience in academia and scholarly publishing. Fugee is currently the Director of the Industrial Informatics and Intelligence Institute and a Chair Professor at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Fugee is also the Founding Acting Dean of the Information Hub at the HKUST Guangzhou Campus. Previously, Fugee Tsung served as a Professor and the Head of the Department of Industrial Engineering and Logistics Management at the same university. Fugee has also held editorial positions at the Journal of Quality Technology (JQT), including Editor-in-Chief and Editor-Elect. Before their tenure in academia, Fugee Tsung had industry experience as a Quality Reliability Engineer at Ford Motor and as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at U. of Michigan/Chrysler Corporation.

Fugee Tsung obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the National Taiwan University in 1990. Fugee then pursued a Ph.D. in Industrial and Operations Engineering at the University of Michigan from 1992 to 1997. Following this, they attended The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology from 1997 to 2016, specializing in Industrial Engineering and Logistics Management. Fugee also holds a certification as an ASQ Certified Six Sigma Black Belt from the American Society for Quality, obtained in 2001.
