Heather Decot, Ph.D., CCRC, currently serves as a Clinical Research Coordinator at The Geneva Foundation since May 2019, working with the Major Extremity Trauma and Rehabilitation Consortium (METRC). Previously, from August 2011 to April 2019, Heather held the position of Research Coordinator at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where responsibilities included coordinating imaging services and operating a small animal MRI system. During doctoral studies in Neuroscience at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Heather conducted research involving optogenetic stimulation techniques and functional magnetic resonance imaging, contributing to significant findings regarding brain modulation and sensory stimulus representation. Prior experience includes a role as a Postbaccalaureate IRTA Fellow at the National Institutes of Health, where coordination of clinical trials focused on cognitive enhancement medications in schizophrenia patients took place, as well as undergraduate research at the University of Mary Washington on the effects of atrazine on zebrafish development. Heather holds a Ph.D. in Neuroscience and a Bachelor of Science in Biology.
