Ted Mao is an accomplished technology executive with extensive experience in engineering leadership and venture capital. Currently serving as an Operating Partner at The General Partnership since October 2022, Ted is also actively building innovative solutions in health insurance and operational efficiency with portfolio companies Thatch and Collective. Previously, Ted held advisory roles at AtoB and Finix after completing a successful tenure as Interim CTO, where strategic improvements led to notable advancements. At Bond, Ted served as VP Engineering and CTO, focusing on financial innovation and inclusion. A long-standing engineering leader at Square, Ted contributed significantly to various projects, including Square Capital and payments infrastructure. Ted's early career includes pivotal roles at Google, leading teams in critical infrastructure projects. Ted earned a BS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley.
