De Kai serves as a Board Member at The Future Society and holds the position of Professor of Computer Science and Engineering at HKUST. Additionally, De Kai is a Distinguished Research Scholar at the International Computer Science Institute. Educational qualifications include an MBA from HKUST Business School (2001-2002) and a PhD in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley (1984-1991).
