Vanessa Nunes is a Senior Laboratory Research Scientist at The Francis Crick Institute since November 2022, specializing in method development and metabolite analysis using advanced chromatographic techniques. Prior to this role, Nunes served as a Research Fellow at Petrobras, focusing on the analysis of bio-oil and petroleum by-products through various chromatographic methods. Nunes also contributed as a PhD Research Fellow and Postgraduated Research Fellow at CAPES, engaged in biofuel analysis and biomass conversion research. A Visiting Researcher at the University of Bath, Nunes worked on characterizing products from hydrothermal processing of seaweed. Nunes' academic background includes a Doctor of Science in Chemistry and a Master of Science from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, alongside a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Universidade Federal Fluminense.
