Karla Chambers is a seasoned leader with extensive experience in both nonprofit and agricultural sectors. Since 2001, Karla has served at The Ford Family Foundation, first as Vice Chairman and then as Chairman of the Board. Karla has co-owned and held the title of Vice President at Stahlbush Island Farms, Inc. since 1985, overseeing administrative, marketing, and sales functions at the sustainable agriculture enterprise. Additionally, Karla contributed to the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco as a member of the Board of Directors, serving on various committees and as Chairman in the early 2000s. Karla also held the position of Vice Chairman on the Advisory Council on Small Business and Agriculture from 1992 to 1996. Earlier in the career, Karla was Associate Director and Chief Administrative Officer at Oregon State University, significantly increasing annual fundraising efforts. Karla holds a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural and Resource Economics and a Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies from Oregon State University.
