Sarah Hamilton is an experienced professional in regulatory and investigative roles across various organizations. Currently serving as an Independent Complaints Reviewer at the Independent Press Standards Organisation since April 2022, Sarah also holds multiple positions including Chair & Lay Member of the Investigating Committee at the Nursing and Midwifery Council, Commissioner at the Boundary Commission for England, Independent Panel Member at the London Assembly, and Lay Member of the Fitness to Practise Committee for the General Optical Council. Additionally, Sarah is Chair of the Fitness to Practise Panel at the Health and Care Professions Council and has contributed as a Lay Inspector for Social Work England and as an Adjudicator at the Solicitors Regulation Authority. Previous experience includes serving as an Education Associate for the General Dental Council. Sarah earned a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from the University of Exeter and completed secondary education at Portsmouth High School for Girls.
