Hamsini Sivakumar is a dedicated journalism and media student at the UNC Hussman School of Journalism and Media, expected to graduate in May 2025 with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Media. Hamsini currently serves as a Senior Writer for the lifestyle section of The Daily Tar Heel and has previously held various positions within the publication, including Staff Writer and Video Desk Member. Experience includes a Commerce Editorial Internship at NBCUniversal, a Student Reporter role at Sports Xtra, and a Production Assistant position with GoHeels Productions, where skills in filming, editing, and sports reporting were developed. Hamsini also has customer service experience from working as a Service Experience Representative at Nordstrom. Prior educational background includes a brief tenure at the University of Michigan, where a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing was pursued, and an early education at the International Academy and Frankfurt International School.
