Heather Richards currently serves as the Vice President for the Mid-Atlantic Region at The Conservation Fund, where responsibilities include advancing land conservation initiatives throughout Virginia. With extensive experience in various leadership roles, including Chair of the Land Trust Accreditation Commission and Vice President of Conservation and Rural Programs at the Piedmont Environmental Council, Richards has guided numerous conservation, agricultural, and habitat programs. Academic credentials include a Master of Environmental Management from Yale University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Environmental Policy from American University. Previous positions also include Director of Headwaters Conservation at Potomac Conservancy and Senior Species Conservation Coordinator at Defenders of Wildlife.
