Tristan Mohabir is the Director of Programs and Operations at The Communications Network.
Prior to joining The Communications Network, Tristan worked at the public policy think tank Third Way. He worked with the organization’s communications team, providing support for digital and social media efforts. He also supported Third Way’s clean energy and national security policy teams, working with a wide array of NGOs and federal agencies.
Previously, Tristan was a Research Assistant at the youth development research center Child Trends, where he helped create a teen pregnancy prevention program for Latino teens. Upon first moving to D.C. in 2012, he interned at international development nonprofit Partners of the Americas. Working on the USAID-funded Farmer to Farmer initiative, he helped promote food security in countries throughout Central and South America and the Caribbean.
A first-generation American of Guyanese descent, Tristan was born and raised in Orlando, Florida. Despite the Florida Man phenomenon (or perhaps owing to it), Tristan strongly believes his home state in the best in the Union.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from The Johns Hopkins University, where he was an editor of a student-run political journal and a sportswriter for the university newspaper. He studied abroad in Argentina and spent time traveling the Southern Cone.
