Gary Slyman

Gary is the president and founder of Great Transitions Strategies, a leadership development coaching practice. He believes leadership is the great differentiator. Meaning; leaders outperform their peers and organizations with a leadership culture, outperform the competition. He assists clients develop clarity on their direction through building a path forward based on a vision and goals aligned with their values. Clients develop self-awareness and capacity in all facets of their personal and professional lives. Gary is a proven leader with over 35 years of experience in organizations operating in dynamic high risks environments to educational settings. He served 23 years as a Marine Corps officer, which included tours as a commanding officer of an aviation squadron in combat and as the Deputy Director of the Ethics Center at USNA. He then served as the first Head of the Middle and Upper School of a newly formed private independent, coeducational day school. In that role he led the development of a program with a fully integrated values-based leadership curriculum. In January of 2016 he started his coaching practice and currently holds a Professional Coach Certification (PCC) from the International Coach Federation and a certificate in facilitation from Georgetown’s Institute of Transformational Leadership. His clients are high performers in public and private sectors. Career transitions, particularly military to civilian transitions are an area of expertise.
