Matteo Colombo is an experienced researcher and journalist with a diverse background in political science and media. Currently serving as a Research Fellow at The Clingendael Institute since April 2021, Matteo Colombo has also been associated with ISPI - Istituto per gli Studi di Politica Internazionale since September 2014, where roles have included Associate Research Fellow and Research Assistant. Previous experience includes a Visiting Fellow position at the European Council on Foreign Relations and a Ph.D. research focus on the ideology of the Islamic State in the Arabic-speaking Twitter sphere at Università degli Studi di Milano. Educational qualifications encompass a Doctorate in Political Science, along with multiple master's degrees in disciplines such as Journalism, Middle East Politics, and International Relations, as well as an undergraduate degree in Philosophy. Early career endeavors included roles as a freelance journalist and Egypt reporter.
