Nadia K. Orton is a professional genealogist and historian currently serving as the Genealogist/Historian for the Unity Cemetery Restoration and Preservation Project at The City of Rocky Mount since November 2021. Nadia also leads the Sacred Grounds Project and has been self-employed as a professional genealogist since 2010. Previously, Nadia worked as a realtor/realtist at Brenda Orton Realty Group, Inc. from 1996 to 2010. Nadia holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and African/African-American Studies, as well as a certificate in Markets and Management Sciences from Duke University, where education was completed from 1993 to 1998.
