Priya Sharma is a data scientist currently employed at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia since April 2022. Formerly, Priya worked as a Data Science Research Postdoc at the Renaissance Computing Institute, conducting machine learning research to identify subtypes in obese cohorts and performing GWAS and statistical analyses. Significant contributions were made as a Data Science Consultant for Girls Who Invest, where resume and job description matching algorithms were developed, enhancing placement efficiency for female students. Notable internships include data science roles at the World Resources Institute and Rosena Sammi Jewelry, focusing on greenhouse gas emissions modeling and recommendation systems, respectively. Priya has also served as a Teaching Lecturer at the University of Pennsylvania and a Graduate Researcher with published work in climate science. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Earth and Environmental Science from the University of Pennsylvania and multiple degrees in Climate Change and Marine Sciences from The University of the South Pacific.
