Renée G. has a diverse work experience in the field of education. Renée is currently serving as the Head of School at Carroll School since July 2021. Prior to that, they worked as an Assistant Principal at Fort River Elementary School in Amherst Public Schools, MA from August 2018 to September 2021. Renée also served as a Specialized Instructional Coach at Amherst Pelham Regional School District from August 2016 to July 2018. In addition, they worked as an Assistant Professor of Special Education at the University of Hartford from August 2012 to August 2016. Before that, they held Adjunct Faculty positions at the University of Connecticut and Lesley University in 2011-2012. Early in their career, Renée was a Teaching Fellow and Graduate Student at the Lynch School of Education, Boston College from September 2006 to May 2011. Renée also worked as a Special Educator at Newton Public Schools, MA from 2004 to 2006 and at The Carroll School, Lincoln, MA from 2000 to 2004. Renée started their career as a Speech/Language Teacher at Lawrence Public Schools, MA in 1999.

Renée G. has an extensive educational background in the field of special education and language. Renée first attended SUNY Geneseo from 1994 to 1998, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Disorders & Sciences. After that, Renée served as a Corpsmember in Americorps NCCC for a year, from 1998 to 1999. Following their time in Americorps, they pursued a Master's degree in Moderate Special Needs from Lesley University, which they completed from 2001 to 2003.

Renée's pursuit of higher education did not end there. Renée went on to obtain a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction, with a focus on Special Education & Language, from Boston College. Their doctoral studies spanned from 2006 to 2011. Alongside their Ph.D., they also earned the prestigious designation of Fellow/AOGPE from the Academy of Orton Gillingham Practitioners & Educators. This fellowship further enhanced their expertise in Language, Dyslexia, and Education.

Through their comprehensive education, Renée G. has developed a strong foundation in various aspects of special education, language, and dyslexia.
