Max Liberman has a diverse range of work experience. Max began their career as a DiMase Summer Fellow at Brown University School of Engineering in 2012. Max then worked as a Technical Director Intern at Pixar Animation Studios in 2013. Following this, Max worked as a Research Assistant at Massachusetts General Hospital from 2011 to 2013.
In 2014, Max joined FiftyThree as a Software Engineer, contributing to the development of Paper, an award-winning sketching app. Max later became the Engineering Lead for Paper 4, where they led the development of the app's core C++ OpenGL ES inking engine and implemented functional programming patterns.
In 2018, Max joined WeTransfer as a Staff Engineer, where they continued to lead the engineering efforts on Paper after its acquisition. Max implemented new features, built a Swift backend service, and deployed a curated stream of downloadable content for the app.
Since 2023, Max has been working as a Software Engineer at The Browser Company.
Max Liberman completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Brown University, graduating in 2013. In 2014, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Engineering from the same institution. Prior to their time at Brown, Max Liberman attended Caltech in 2009-2010, although no specific degree or field of study was provided for this period.
