George Velez serves as the Senior Director of Transportation at the Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation since October 2007, where responsibilities include overseeing all transportation services for employees, staff, and visitors. In addition to this role, George Velez is a self-published author and illustrator of the children's book series "How to Make Friends in Space," available through Blurb. George Velez's educational background includes an Associate of Science degree in Business/Economics from SUNY Empire State College, as well as multiple training certifications from FEMA, the NYPD Regional Training Center, Borough of Manhattan Community College, and FDNY in fire and emergency drill conducting.
