Philip Lewis is the Head of Global Strategy, Policy & Engagement at The British Academy, a position held since November 2012, where responsibilities include driving international strategy and leading engagement activities. Lewis previously served as Head of International, significantly expanding the Academy's international portfolio, and as Senior International Policy Adviser, focusing on international relations across Europe, Africa, and the Americas. Early career roles include Political Assistant at the UK House of Lords and the European Parliament, and Assistant Executive Manager at the Iraq Britain Business Council, where contributions led to substantial organizational growth. Lewis holds a Master’s Degree in Conflict, Security and Development from King's College London and a Bachelor’s Degree in History from the University of York.
