The Bluebird Group is a manufacturer’s representative and consulting firm serving as an invaluable partner to some of the most innovative brands and multinational retailers. We are seeking a VP of Sales to lead our OTC and Baby business unit and work on our Walmart team in our office in Bentonville, Arkansas.
As the Vice President of Sales focusing on Walmart, you will lead our efforts in driving business development and fostering strategic relationships with our client base of fast-growing, innovative brands within the OTC and Baby space. You will be instrumental in aligning our business strategies with the goals and objectives of Walmart to achieve mutual success.
Responsibilities:
Business Development Leadership: Develop, lead, and execute strategies to expand our client base within Walmart OTC and Baby departments, focusing on driving revenue growth and market share.
New Business Acquisition: Identify and pursue new business opportunities through effective network management, participation in trade shows, and leveraging digital tools to expand our market presence.
Client Relationship Management: Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing and new clients, ensuring alignment of their business goals with our offerings. Serve as the primary contact for specific Walmart/Sam's Club category buyers.
Strategic Planning and Execution: Lead the development and implementation of business plans that enhance merchandising, displays, pricing strategies, and successful product launches.
Operational Excellence: Collaborate closely with other departments to ensure operational excellence, including on-time shipping, maintaining strong inventory levels, and meeting customer expectations.
Customer-Centric Culture: Champion a customer-centric culture within the organization, striving to exceed customer needs, requirements, timelines, and expectations at every opportunity.
Qualifications:
Proven experience (5+ years) in senior sales leadership roles within the consumer goods industry (manufacturer, broker, or WMT), with a focus on Walmart OTC and Baby departments
OTC background (baby and home experience a plus)
Sam’s Club experience a plus but majority of current book of business is at WMT
Sales Agency/Broker experience managing clients
Proven success managing a team and business unit
Strong understanding of retail sales strategies, including merchandising, pricing, and promotional tactics in D40 and D79 Walmart
Demonstrated success in business development, client relationship management, and strategic planning
Entrepreneurial- brings a high level of self-directed energy and an unrelenting drive to succeed and win.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or related field or corresponding work experience required.
Ability to travel as needed.
