Ariel Zambelich is a seasoned visual media professional with a career spanning over 15 years. Currently serving as the Visuals Director at Baltimore Banner since September 2024, Ariel has extensive experience in photojournalism and editorial photography. Previous roles include Managing Photo Editor at The Wall Street Journal, where responsibilities involved leading photo coverage for major domestic news and politics, and Senior Photo Editor at The Intercept, overseeing editorial photography across multiple platforms. Additional experience includes supervising a visual team at NPR and serving as a Photo Editor at Wired. Ariel has collaborated with prestigious clients such as the New York Times, WIRED, Bloomberg Businessweek, and the Nobel Foundation, and operates a freelance photography business. Educationally, Ariel holds a B.A. in Journalism from San Francisco State University and a Graduate Certificate in Community Leadership from CUNY School of Labor and Urban Studies.
