Kalissa Hendrickson is the Director of Executive Leadership Seminars for The Aspen Institute. A passionate advocate for the humanities and their role in the development of effective leadership, Kalissa manages the Institute’s Aspen Executive Seminar on leadership, values, and the good society in addition to other humanities-based executive leadership seminars. Prior to joining the Institute, Kalissa taught literature and composition at Arizona State University, where she earned her Ph.D. in English literature with a specialty in eighteenth-century drama. Her work has been published in peer-reviewed journals, and she has presented at national and international conferences in her field. At ASU Kalissa co-founded and served as co-president of the Graduate Women’s Association, an award-winning organization dedicated to providing women and minority graduate students advanced professionalization resources and opportunities. Kalissa has also worked in grant writing and grant administration for ASU’s Institute of Humanities Research as well as sales and marketing for Village Voice Media. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University.
