George Lewis is the Vice President at The Arc of Lehigh & Northampton Counties. George has over 25 years of experience in corporate communications and public relations.
George began their career as a News Manager at The Express and then transitioned to PPL Corporation, where they served as Director of Corporate Communications for 28 years. In this role, they were responsible for providing communications counsel and strategic development services for top corporate executives, as well as serving as the company spokesperson on high-profile issues. George was also a key contributor to the corporate crisis response team. In 2015, they left PPL Corporation to join Talen Energy as their Corporate Communications Director.
At Talen Energy, George led the corporate communications function and developed the corporate communications operating model and processes as part of the spinoff from PPL Corporation. George also managed executive, financial, M&A, and crisis communications. In January 2017, George left Talen Energy to join The Arc of Lehigh & Northampton Counties as their Vice President.
George has a long history of dedication to their career in communications and public relations. George is a strategic thinker with a proven track record in developing and executing successful communication plans. George is an expert in media relations, crisis communications, employee communications, and marketing communications. George is a strong leader with the ability to build and motivate high-performing teams.
George Lewis graduated from Swarthmore High School and then went on to study journalism at Penn State University, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree. After working for several years, they decided to further their education by enrolling in an Executive Education Program at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
