Gidon Gershinsky is a Data Security Architect at Apple since January 2021, specializing in secure analytics technologies and leading the design and implementation of data security solutions. Gidon is also a Committer and PMC member for Apache Parquet with The Apache Software Foundation since November 2021. Previously, Gidon held the position of Researcher (STSM) at IBM Research from August 1998 to December 2020, where significant contributions included developing the Apache Parquet modular encryption standard and integrating Apache Spark with encrypted data sources. Gidon's expertise extends to novel real-time messaging systems for financial front office systems, managing development efforts leading to market-leading technologies in global financial institutions. Earlier, Gidon served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Columbia University, exploring computational applications in physics and chemistry. Gidon earned both MSc and PhD degrees from the Weizmann Institute of Science.
