Leo Medeiros joins The Agency Development Group as Managing Director with three decades of industry experience in diverse markets such as San Francisco, Seattle, San Diego and L.A. His breadth of global and local knowledge provides his clients with insight into the distinct nuances and trends in the marketplace. New development is his passion and transforming neighborhoods, changing the city skyline and enhancing the lives of individuals is what excites him most. His career has encompassed work with a broad range of renowned developers, including Tishman Speyer, Starwood, Bosa Development, Jay Paul Company, Elad Group and Lennar. He is now thrilled to be working with Shvo, a prominent New York firm currently leading the development of the Mandarin Oriental Residences Beverly Hills with Mauricio Umansky, Founder and CEO of The Agency.
For Leo, the business of real estate is most successful when taking a team approach. One of his strengths lies in forming exceptional teams and hiring people who bring unique skills and knowledge to the table, complementing his own. Collaborating with project directors, marketing directors, developers and their representatives presents the challenge of meeting everyone’s specific needs, but culminates in the most rewarding projects. Patient, observative, positive and strategic, Leo knows when to push back or be flexible.
Real estate has been Leo’s world since he was 19. Born and raised in San Leandro, California, Leo grew up with parents who immigrated from Portugal, and he spoke Portuguese as his first language. With dual citizenship in Portugal, he spent summers in the Azores Islands where his family was from originally.
Leo attended Cal State East Bay, where he studied real estate. After working in the re-sale industry for six years and quickly maturing in his role, he transitioned to working with a suburban real estate developer, KB Homes, selling hundreds of homes in six developments throughout Silicon Valley. In 2000, he started selling residential new construction high-rises, just when the urban trend took hold on the West Coast. Leo worked for the prominent San Francisco sales and marketing firm The Mark Company on The Brannan residence, a project that featured interiors by Christian Lliagre and established his passion for collaborating with incredible brands, designers and architects. He has now worked with Fendi Casa, Architectonica and L.A.-based design firm Mass Beverly, to name a few.
Leo currently holds real estate licenses in California, Washington and is in the process of obtaining his Nevada state license.
