Barbara Hewitt is an accomplished academic in Health Information Management, currently serving as an Associate Professor at Texas State University since August 2015, where courses taught include Data Security, Privacy and Confidentiality, and Health Informatics. Notably, Barbara is the founder of San Antonio Women in Technology, an initiative aimed at supporting women's engagement in computing from early interest through career development. Previous roles include Co-owner of GMHewitt and Associate Professor at Texas A&M University-San Antonio, specializing in Information Security and Risk Analysis.
